Conviction in Jazz

My choice for theme genre was conviction in jazz. I had wanted to choose something unique while being able to have a theme genre that was not so limited finding examples would be frustrating. Choosing a theme was easy, but the genre was near impossible to find. I do not know a lot about music and whenever I came up with a song as an example of what I wanted to do I could not find what genre the song belonged to. After finalizing conviction, which is a strong belief, as my theme I looked through the genres. Originally I had looked at swing as my genre but I could not find what qualifies as swing. Jazz and swing seem to be closely related and examples of jazz music are easy to find even though jazz is not one of the major genres in modern times.
